Going Back To School…
I am so jazzed to be going back to school. I don’t know about you, but I love learning new things. Working online is giving me the drive to pursue all kinds of new projects. Today I started back to school to get a BA degree in small business. This is so awesome to know I can do this! My two Summer classes are Small Business and Marketing and a class to learn Photoshop. This is such an awesome feeling… I can do this!
Back to School at the Young Age of 58!
My Business/Marketing class is just what I need. It is going to just make my connection with the WEST program that much stronger! I need these skills for so many things. I’ve been a Brick and Stone mason all of my life, and I never really felt a need to study business. I have never had a business plan in place during all of my years in the Masonry business. I wish I had been a little more open to education when I was younger. All I have known is do the work, get paid, and continue the same process over and over. I guess I am a bit stubborn at times, but I guess going back to school for me is better late than never!
The class I am taking to learn photoshop is going to be the biggest challenge as I go back to school. However, I think it will be very rewarding. There is so much to learn…. wow what a powerful program! I am looking forward to being able to create custom logos and headers without using a template. It just really appeals to me. It makes me feel that the creative side of me is alive and well! I miss that so much due to not working at my brick trade, but I am so proud to be moving on to better things for myself.
Online Classes Are a Great Way to Go Back to School.
My classes are online, which is going to be a challenge too. Going back to school online has it’s own learning curve. The teachers that I have seem to have things all dialed in and organized. It seems to be kinda strange to not have a classroom setting, but it is sure going to force me to stay on top of my assignments, which will create more accountability to myself. I really like this feeling, of pursuing a goal such as going back to school again.
These classes are going to spark my creative side for sure. I am so grateful to be meeting new people online and sharing ideas with others. I wasn’t sure if going back to school was a good idea, but now that I have allowed myself to get off my butt and do it, I am so glad that my friend and mentor Bob Yeager suggested it. It is never to late to learn new things, and with encouragement from people like Bob, I can feel a sense of accomplishment, even though I just started. Dreams really do come true, but they all take a bit of planning and work. Going back to school is just another step towards great things for me!
